Materials Planning Manager – Food Manufacturing – LeedsMajor Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business in the UK, which is looking for a Materials Planning Manager. As a Materials Planning Manager, you will ensure the timely and controlled availability of packaging materials and products to support the production function. There is a full-time on-site role with the flexibility to work from home on a Friday.Responsibilities

Develop, lead and manage the Material Planning team - Drive the team''s best practice, appraisal, mid-year reviews and personal development plansDevelopment of supplier performance monitoring systems and continuous improvement programmesReview all stock replenishment systems and processes with continuous improvement methodologyFirst escalation point for poor supplier performance/supply shortageDevelop and maintain stock replenishment KPI Dashboard and communicate to key stakeholdersPlacing contracts (4-13 Weeks Demand) and call-offs (1-3-week demand) to cover forecasted volume and production plansCollaborating with Supply planning, Demand planning, PLM and Commercial to ensure all information is correct and present to enable call-offs and contracts to be accurate and timelyFull end-to-end management of suppliers covering short- and long-term demand, expedition of materials where appropriate, chasing of short or late deliveries and any other queries that could arise in the day-to-day management of the suppliersSupport SandOP / Mini SandOP process where necessaryQualifications

Previous experience in food manufacturingLeadership experienceHighly analytical with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data in a simple and easy-to-understand formatExperience in scheduling, planning or a related area, with strong knowledge of SAP/ERP/MRP systemsMajor Recruitment is an employment agency working on behalf of our client.
