Salary: £65-70k + Benefits
Contract: Full-time (part-time considered) | Permanent or interim option available
About the Organisation

The Opportunity
We are partnering with our client to recruit a Finance Director to lead and evolve their finance function. This is a key strategic role within the Senior Management Team, offering the opportunity to influence organisational direction while ensuring robust financial stewardship.
You will oversee a c.£3m turnover operation, leading finance operations, driving performance insights, and supporting decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring strong financial controls and accurate reporting
- Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and senior stakeholders
- Deliver timely and insightful management information, KPIs, and financial analysis
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Manage month-end close (within 5 working days) and maintain balance sheet integrity
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and governance requirements (including VAT, GDPR, and charity regulations)
- Lead audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Oversee payroll, cash flow management, and financial operations
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and automation (including Sage Intacct)
- Support commercial decision-making, including pricing and performance analysis
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent)
- Ideally experienced in a senior finance leadership role or someone looking to take the next step in their career as a Finance Director
- Strong technical and operational finance expertise
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience driving process improvements and system enhancements
- Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insight
Desirable Experience
- Charity and/or hospitality sector experience
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar systems
- Experience with hospitality booking systems (e.g., Rezlynx/Guestline)
- Audit and compliance experience
Working Arrangements
This is a predominantly on-site role due to the nature of the organisation’s operations, though some flexibility for remote working is available. Part-time candidates will also be considered (Minimum of 3 days per week).
