Underwriter II – Regional Retail PandCAs an Underwriter II, you will be responsible for delivering a profitable and sustainable underwriting service to your clients. Your key tasks include underwriting business within the agreed business plan and individual authority; supporting business planning and forecasting; monitoring financial exposure and premium income; maintaining awareness of claims; building relationships with brokers and clients; and supporting risk design and structuring.Discover your opportunityEssential responsibilities include:Reviewing submissions such as applications, policy wordings, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports to assess risk.Calculating appropriate risk premiums considering current underwriting environments.Advising and servicing clients on insurance and risk management matters.Traveling internationally and attending Lloyd’s Box meetings.Managing relationships to cross-sell products and retain accounts.Implementing new and renewed accounts according to standards.Reviewing loss control reports and managing policy endorsements.Supporting planning, forecasting, and monitoring financial exposure and premiums.Monitoring claims and contributing to settlement processes.Collaborating with team members including underwriters and management.Qualifications and skills required:Proven UK Property or Casualty Underwriting experience, or both.Experience with multinationals.Technical knowledge and industry skills demonstrated through career progression.Ability to work within significant limits and handle complex assignments.Strong analytical, negotiation, and marketing skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Interpersonal skills to build insured and broker relationships.Team-oriented with creative problem-solving abilities.Find your futureAXA XL, part of AXA, specializes in complex risks for mid-sized companies, multinationals, and individuals.
