Housing Solicitor Contract: 3-month locum (high likelihood of extension)Rate: £50 per hourStart: ASAPLocation: Hybrid / Remote options availableWe are seeking an experienced Housing and Homelessness Locum Solicitor to join our clients busy Legal Services team on an interim basis. This role is ideal for a solicitor who can quickly step into complex caseloads and deliver confident, high-quality advice within a fast-paced public-sector environment.Day-to-day of the role:Manage a varied caseload of housing and homelessness matters, providing clear, accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders.Handle Part VII Housing Act 1996 cases, including reviews, s.184 decisions, suitability challenges, and duty discharge issues.Advise on homelessness appeals, judicial review challenges, and pre-action protocol responses.Support the organisation on tenancy matters, possession proceedings, injunctions, disrepair, and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) issues.Prepare and review legal documentation, including pleadings, instructions to counsel, and settlement agreements.Liaise with external agencies, barristers, and courts to progress cases efficiently.Ensure all work is compliant with relevant legislation and public-sector governance standards.Required Skills and Qualifications:Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX equivalent.Strong background in housing law and homelessness legislation.Proven track record of handling public-sector housing caseloads.Confident managing judicial review and county ..... full job details .....
