Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Children''s Community Nurse to join the Red Community Paediatric Nursing service in Chadwell Heath. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and development of the Community Children''s Nursing Service, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care is provided to children, young people, and their families in a community setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care to children and young people in the community, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.
Maintain and develop expert clinical practice, ensuring effective case management.
Provide care closer to home with a focus on family-centred practice.
Work in partnership with children, young people, parents, carers, and the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to achieve the best health outcomes.
Lead on service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Provide line management, supervision, and support to junior nursing staff.
Undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evaluations for children with complex needs.
Contribute to safeguarding assessments and multi-agency meetings where required.
Skills & Experience Required
Registered Children''s Nurse (RSCN or RNC).
Minimum 3 years'' post-qualification experience within paediatric nursing.
Substantial experience in community children''s nursing, including complex case management.
Advanced clinical skills, including:
Assessment of the sick child
Medicine administration
Wound care
IV therapy and central line management
Venepuncture
Oncology and palliative care
Experience in service development and improvement.
Line management and leadership experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
