ROLE- Senior Mechanical Design EngineerLOCATION- GuildfordTERM- PermanentSALARY- £45,000- £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)My client designs and manufactures machinery, specialist equipment and precision parts. They are looking to take on a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Guildford on a permanent basis.The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Mechanical Engineering / Design / Development positionDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarExperience working with machinery, sheet metal and precision components would be idealPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environmentBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor etc.Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent organisational skills and time management skillsHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary teamThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsCompleting detailing, documentation and assembly drawingsLiaising with manufacturing providersBeing involved in final assembly of productsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projectsIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
