The Infrastructure Engineering team design, develop and operate all infrastructure used by Tesco Technology across data centres, offices, stores and distribution centres. This includes private and public cloud, connectivity, end-user computing, CI/CD and monitoring toolkit. The role involves both third-party and internally developed infrastructure that supports the wider Tesco business.Responsibilities
Design, develop and operate the Infrastructure platforms that enable development teams and business colleagues to consume infrastructure.Design, develop and operate automation to allow Infrastructure platforms to be consumed in a controlled, auditable and repeatable manner.Set strategy, objectives and high-level plans for infrastructure.Collaborate with development teams to create appropriate infrastructure solutions.Evaluate partners, software and hardware and select the right mix to deliver the strategy.Drive innovation through infrastructure transformation at Tesco.Define and oversee standards and simplification across the estate.Design, deliver and operate new and reusable infrastructure solutions.Requirements
Knowledge of OS-related functionality including backup, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and file system management.Knowledge and experience with storage replication software, SAN switches, storage virtualization and storage management software/hardware.Ability to configure SAN infrastructures.Knowledge of enterprise backup and recovery hardware/software.Ability to develop complex scripting logic.Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Essential Technologies
