Overview A manufacturing organisation producing engineered mechanical products is seeking a Design Engineer to support the development of new products and the improvement of existing product ranges. You will work across the full design lifecycle - from concept through detailed engineering and production handover - collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products are delivered to specification, on time and for manufacture. Key Responsibilities Generate detailed mechanical designs for new products and modifications to existing product lines Define engineering requirements and ensure designs are production-ready for manufacture Work across internal departments (Development, Production Engineering, Purchasing) to ensure design-for-manufacture (DFM) is embedded before release Determine suitable manufacturing methods for designs considering internal capabilities and external suppliers Perform DFMEA activities, tracking actions and working with development teams on failure modes and mitigations Conduct tolerance analysis for efficient manufacture, correct function, and assembly feasibility Produce and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) during the design process for cost and production purposes Collaborate with Production Engineering to optimise product cost, quality, and manufacturing efficiency Maintain progress documentation and provide updates to support new product development workflows Required Qualifications and Experience Degree in Mechanical ..... full job details .....
