Teaching Assistant SEN
We are currently looking for an engaging and passionate Teaching Assistant to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Cramlington to start in September on a full-time or part-time basis. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to build a longer term positive relationship with pupils and have a genuine impact on the progress and development of every child you support.
About the School:
- The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Cramlington.
- The school supports pupils aged 5-16 and there are opportunities to support pupils across all year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
- The school has an outstanding supportive environment and Leadership Team. With staff cohesion being pivotal, allowing them to work as a Team within classrooms to provide the highest possible standard of support to pupils.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviours on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts will be important.
- Develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
- Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
- An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
- A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
About the role:
- Location: Cramlington
- Start Date: September start
- Contract: Long term temporary contract with potential to go permanent
- Hours: 8:30-3:30
- Pay: -440600 per week
