MECHANICAL FITTER

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to work for our client who are located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

THE DUTIES OF A MECHANICAL FITTER:

• Strip down and rebuild a wide range of industrial gearboxes, including Helical gearboxes, Worm gearboxes, Bevel helical gearboxes, Spur gearboxes.
• Work with gearbox units ranging in size from 150 kg to 10 tonnes
• Inspect, assess, and diagnose faults or wear in mechanical components
• Clean, measure, and replace or refurbish gearbox components as necessary (e.g. bearings, seals, shafts, gears).
• Provide gearbox fitting services across multiple industry sectors, including Steel Works, Chemical Plants, Distilleries, Oil and Gas, Wind Turbines, Quarrying, Brick Manufacturing, Water Treatment Facilities and Cooling Towers.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

• Proven experience in stripping down, inspecting, rebuilding, and testing various industrial gearboxes.
• Strong mechanical fitting background within heavy industry or precision engineering environments.
• Competence in replacing and fitting bearings, seals, shafts, and gears.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.

THE HOURS:

You will work a day shift - Monday-Thursday 7.30am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute brake

Friday 7.30am - 1.30pm, no break

THE PAY:

You will earn an annual rate of between -35,000-to -45,000 depending on experience.
