Full-Time Caretaker - Secondary School | Lewisham | 5 Days per Week

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to join a welcoming and well-respected secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time, five days per week position within a supportive school community that prides itself on maintaining a safe, clean, and positive learning environment for both students and staff.

• Ensure the security, safety, and maintenance of the school premises.

• Carry out daily site inspections, identifying and addressing maintenance issues.

• Perform general repairs, basic maintenance, and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.

• Oversee opening and closing of the site, ensuring facilities are ready for daily use.

• Support with health and safety compliance, including routine checks and reporting hazards.

• Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events.

• Liaise with contractors and external service providers when required.

• Previous experience as a caretaker or site manager, ideally within a school or similar environment.

• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, health and safety procedures, and site management.

• A degree is preferred, though not essential for candidates with substantial relevant experience.

• Ability to work independently, efficiently, and proactively.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
