Key Responsibilities
Accounting: Review/finalise statutory accounts for submission to Companies House and HMRC; communicate with clients as necessary; update client files, checklists, records and procedures; perform financial analyses, planning and financial modelling.
Audit: Work as part of an audit team or take responsibility for running the audit, working directly with the client under manager supervision; support the manager to manage the audit team and supervise the audit process to ensure high quality audits.
Assist in the planning, execution and finalisation of all areas of the audit assignment for manager or partner review; identify risk matters and discuss impact with the audit manager and/or partner; provide clear issues and potential solutions.
Identify and understand client needs, suggest potential solutions on technical matters and communicate these with managers; engage with senior client staff to understand their business and ensure efficient audit execution.
Take primary responsibility for monitoring audit progress against pre-approved budgets; supervise, coach and develop junior audit team members; majority of audit work completed in-house with some off-site client visits.
Key Requirements
Qualified practice accountant (ACCA/ACA/ICAS).
Educated up to degree level or CTS.
Experience supervising and coaching junior staff on site.
Working knowledge of firm services, issues regarding advice, and regulation and compliance including anti-money laundering.
Demonstrable knowledge of current economic and market trends.
Additional Requirements
Member of ACCA or ICAEW.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain client relationships.
SME client experience; proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
Dependable, professional, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
