We are acutely aware of the role that traditional pubs play in British culture and their local communities and work hard to ensure our pubs provide great surroundings and food and drink for all who walk through our doors.Were excited to announce the upcoming launch of our brand-new Training and Development Centre, The Kitchen Academy, opening in September. This will be our dedicated central hub for all things food, where teams across the business will be trained, inspired, and developed.It will also be the home of our 5 Development Chefs, who are constantly crafting and evolving the great menus that define our food offer.We are now looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team and support this exciting new chapter.
This is a Full-Time role, with working hours agreed based on Academy needs across the operating hours, Monday to Friday.The kitchen Academy is located at Blakes Lock in Reading, RG1 3EQ.
Key Accountabilities:Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, crockery, and cutlery are cleaned and always sanitised.Maintain cleanliness of sinks, food storage areas, including fridges and freezers.Dry and return all washed items to designated storage areas.Clean and sanitise all work surfaces before and after food preparation.Carry out basic food preparation duties as directed by senior staff.Maintain handwashing stations with appropriate supplies.Unpack and store food deliveries in line with food safety standards.Apply and follow the companys food labelling policy accurately.Handle kitchen laundry duties (e.g., aprons, cloths, towels).Support the cleanliness and presentation of the full premises, including front-of-house areas.Assist with session setup and breakdown during training events as neededProvide flexible support to both the training and development teams.
