The successful candidate will head the Meetings and Events department to achieve maximum revenue and client relationships, through effective and efficient sales techniques and strategies—providing excellent customer service at all times to all customers.
You will lead a team including a Senior MandE Executive, two MandE Executives and an MandE Co-ordinator in planning and executing meetings, events and conferences for up to 446 guests, from start to finish. You will work closely with clients, agents, and team members to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of all aspects of events.
This role requires a proven track record of accomplishment in event management. We are part of a global brand of 155+ hotels worldwide and part of Accor, Europe’s largest hotel company with 5000+ hotels. The successful candidate will be highly organized, creative and driven, and will be joining a vibrant sales team with 17 individual event spaces including the Shaw Theatre.
Your role will include managing and directing all aspects of the Meeting and Events Sales department including leading, developing and motivating a high-performing team to meet and exceed the budget and maximise conference and events revenue and profit, through active selling and commercial management techniques.
Responsibilities
Diary Management to ensure the Business on the Books is the most profitable for the hotel
Establish yielding policies for optimizing meeting space with FandB, Sales and Revenue Management
Coordinate meeting organiser and client show rounds to hotel
Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly and in line with Accor standards
Set daily/weekly targets for the team
Proactively phone existing clients for repeat business
Participate in weekly/monthly revenue meetings, ensuring outputs take “total revenue” into consideration
Monitor and share revenue trends to support revenue-driving actions, including forecasts, channel delivery, pace, market segments, Turn Down, SpendPAR, Conference measures
Develop SOPs and monitor to ensure they are in place
Competitor board spotting
Participate in client events in the hotel in conjunction with sales department
Coordinate and implement conference or promotional offers within the conference/meeting/events market in line with hotel strategy
Recruit, induct and train employees in a systematic process and professional way to meet the needs of the business. Develop training plans for each team member
