SHEQ Business Partner

OverviewEquans is looking for a SHEQ Business Partner to join our team. This is a national permanent role, working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
We are looking for experienced SHEQ Business Partners in the north and south of England to cover the region. This role offers hybrid working with weekly travel to various sites.
Responsibilities
Support the management of Health and Safety across the MTS to ensure all work is undertaken to external and internal standards and guidelines
Work with the SHEQ Team to utilise and maintain adequate HandS systems to meet statutory and company requirements
Establish HandS Action Plans for each contract with the MTS Operations Director in line with the business HandS plan to deliver safe workplaces, and improved employee engagement and culture as models of best practice
Conduct regular site visits to support and engage with Operational Management and front line staff, to ensure the ongoing HandS of all persons undertaking or affected by EQUANS works. Provide documented SHEQ reports to AIMS to support this
Identify and provide feedback on best practice, recognising those persons going ''above and beyond'' or consistently contributing to improved HandS in the workplace
Identify employees in the MTS div to join the Safety Ambassadors team and mentor their development along the Safety Ambassador development pathway
Provide advice on any actions required from the findings of HandS Audits - providing guidance on any changes and improvements that may be needed to improve health and safety
Monitor and provide advice with regard to HandS training to ensure that all colleagues within the MTS div are suitably trained and developed. The delivery of mandatory training that supports health and safety should be monitored and prioritised
Ensure all reportable data (Near Misses, Accidents, RIDDORs, HiPos, LTI''s, Incidents, LSV/MSV) are recorded accurately by the MTS division and coach personnel where required
Lead investigations and liaise with stakeholders, ensuring detailed investigations are undertaken and written reports documented, identifying the immediate, underlying and root causes of accidents, incidents including high-potential events
Hold close out meetings, to ensure SMART action plans are in place with actions identified to minimise recurrence of adverse events
Assist the Operations team in preparing findings for the Accident Incident Review board
Provide a monthly written HandS Business Performance Review as agreed with the Northern Region HandS Lead for the MTS Operations Director and the MTS Div Senior Leadership Team
Attend functional team meetings and SHEQ meetings as required to communicate on HandS matters, trends and initiatives
Support key bids, attend tender interviews, and lead competitive dialogue in the bid process to ensure the EQUANS HandS Management arrangements and culture are properly represented
Work as a team with other HandS team members, functions and operations to continue to develop the positive Health and Safety culture, compliance and management system across Sustainable FM and the MTS Div
Lead by example in HandS and in demonstrating personal alignment with the company''s Responsible Business values and objectives

Who are you?
Previous experience of a Health and Safety role within the construction, energy sector, FM or related industries
Demonstrable experience relevant to Health and Safety legislation
NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; British Safety Council Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health; City and Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice; NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health and Safety or equivalent qualification or qualification by experience
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
Membership of IOSH or an equivalent industry safety body
Understanding of Construction, Energy and FM technology and methods
Experience of fire prevention and fire management
Demonstrable ability to create harmonious, collaborative working relationships and effective partnerships
Ability to provide creative solutions to issues/problems
Proven ability to provide straightforward, clear, and easy to understand information and documentation
Ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team
This role includes a DBS Basic check; therefore the ability to pass is essential.
