Administration and Site Support
The Opportunity
A fixed term contract to support a well-established electrical engineering business delivering services at one of the UK''s largest live events - the Farnborough Airshow.
This is a front-of-house, site-based support role, working closely with engineers, contractors and subcontractors throughout the event. You''ll be a key point of contact on site, helping keep operations organised, accurate and running smoothly.
The site is large and fast-paced, so being happy and confident moving across different areas of the site is essential.
You''ll start with a structured onboarding period to learn systems and processes, before stepping into a busy, high-energy environment as the show builds.
The Person
We''re looking for someone who is friendly, organised and detail-focused, with the confidence to interact with engineers and operational teams.
This role would suit someone who:
- Enjoys being front of house in a practical, working environment
- Is confident communicating with engineers, contractors and site teams
- Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right
- Is comfortable using systems (or keen to learn - training will be provided)
- Brings a proactive, can-do attitude
- Is happy working across a large, busy site and staying on their feet
This could suit someone from a retail, hospitality, admin or events background, or someone looking to demonstrate a more Admin / Operational role on their CV.
What You''ll Be Doing
A varied role combining front-of-house support, admin and site coordination:
- Acting as a key point of contact for engineers and contractors on site
- Logging and tracking requests, updates and supplies accurately
- Using internal systems / CRM to maintain records (training provided)
- Supporting the sale of essential items to contractors, including taking card payments
- Preparing signage, labels and operational materials
- Communicating with engineers via radio
- Supporting day-to-day coordination across the site
- Assisting with refreshments and general site organisation
- Occasional trips to collect supplies
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong communication skills and confidence speaking to site teams
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car everyday of contract
- Comfortable working in a busy, operational environment
Desirable (not essential):
- Experience using a CRM or internal system
- Previous experience in customer-facing, admin or site-based roles
