A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a successful dairy business milking 530-cows and producing four million litres of high-quality milk for a premium stilton maker near Newark in Nottinghamshire. We require a very enthusiastic and versatile Herd Manager to manage the day-day running of this large dairy unit. The successful candidate will work closely with the herdsman, farm manager and other staff on the 230-cow spring block-calving grazing system and the 300-cow autumn block calving system. This exciting position has the following key responsibilities / accountabilities; staff management, overseeing youngstock rearing, milk quality, fertility planning, grassland management, training / mentoring of staff and further development of business.
