Head of Projects (Fire & Security / AV)

A respected, independently owned Fire & Security and AV specialist is looking for a Head of Projects to take full ownership of its Project Delivery function.

This is a true leadership role, not just a step up in title.

While this position sits at Head of level, the business is open to individuals currently operating as a Senior Project Manager, Head of Projects, Operations Manager, Head of Operations or Technical Manager, who are already influencing delivery at a departmental level and are ready to take full ownership.

You will be overseeing a live portfolio that can exceed 80 active installations at any one time, with individual project values reaching into the millions (-).

You will lead a team of Project Managers, take ownership of departmental P&L, manage forecasting and reporting, and work closely with the Engineering Director to balance manpower, delivery performance and margin control.

The Role

• Line management of multiple Project Managers
• Oversight of 80+ concurrent projects
• Ownership of Projects P&L and forecasting
• Resource and capacity planning
• Governance and delivery standards
• Escalation point for commercial and technical risk
• Senior stakeholder and key client engagement

You are accountable for performance, margin and how the department operates.

This role requires someone comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level when needed.

About You

You must come from a Fire and Security or Audio Visual background.

You may currently be a:

• Senior Project Manager stepping into broader responsibility
• Head of Projects or Projects Lead
• Operations Manager or Head of Operations within a technical delivery environment
• Technical Manager with strong project and team oversight

What matters is that you have:

• Progressed from engineering or technical delivery
• Experience managing Project Managers, not just engineers
• Oversight of a large, multi project portfolio
• Exposure to or ownership of departmental P&L
• Worked closely with engineering leadership on manpower planning
• Acted as an escalation point on complex or drifting projects
