There is an expectation that everyone will spend time in the office on a regular basis, recognising that some work is better done face to face. Managers will work with their teams on what works best to meet individual, team, business and organisational needs to enable collaboration, as well as balancing personal choice and wellbeing. About Fitness to Practise (FTP)The Department consists of eight case management teams that receive and investigate concerns about Registrants'' fitness to practise and protection of title offences, and the HCPC Tribunal Service (HCPTS), which is the adjudication service of the HCPC. We employ around 130 people, who are collectively responsible for the delivery of the HCPC''s fitness to practise and adjudication work. We manage an open caseload of approximately 2000 fitness to practise cases in house. Fitness to practise, in this context, describes the process we use to investigate concerns that are raised about our Registrants'' conduct, competence, health or character. About the roleThe Senior Decision Makers evaluate and assess information received in the initial stages of our fitness to practise investigations to make sound decisions. They apply our Threshold Policy to decide if cases should close or be referred to our Investigating Committee. For cases that are closed, they draft those decisions.
