Our client has a depth and breadth of experience, expertise and local knowledge to support clients at every stage of property investment, ownership and occupation from acquisition to disposal. The consultancy is expanding within their Building Surveying team and is seeking a passionate and driven individual looking to develop their career into a Senior Chartered Surveyor.Main Duties
Client management and contract administration/practice dutiesProvide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of residential and commercial propertyCarry out building and measured surveysEnsure buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standardsTaking particulars on site, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance workAnalyse and report on building defectsHandling claims and negotiations with loss adjusters leading to the preparation of drawings and specifications for remedial workPrepare schedules of dilapidations (land and buildings)Provide advice in connection with planning applications, appeals, boundary disputes, government grants, conducting arbitrations and acting as an expert witnessSupervision of building work on siteKey Duties for social housing clients
Overseeing cyclical works programmes to residential propertiesUndertaking regular property condition / validation surveys and producing works schedules for section 20/151 leaseholder notificationsDefect diagnosis and reportingCost management and advice to the supporting QS teamUndertaking pre-start, interim quality and handover snagging inspectionsAnswering resident, leaseholder, client and contractor queriesChairing and minuting monthly Contractor Progress MeetingsChairing and minuting leaseholder / stakeholder handover meetingsAttending and presenting ‘Meet the Project Team’ resident’s meetingsSkills Required
Relevant degree qualified – RICS approvedMRICS Chartered or on the APC pathway towards chartershipSocial housing repairs experienceAt least 3 years practice experienceThis opportunity requires you to be the key point of contact with the consultancy’s prestigious clients, so a high level of communication skills and commercial awareness are essential for success.
