Your new companyThis Local Authority has a great opportunity for a qualified accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Ideally, you will have experience from a large or complex organisation, but local government experience is not essential as the right person will be able to bring their skills to a new sector.Your new roleReporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead on delivering the Council''s finance services, comprising accountancy and exchequer services. This includes leading in setting the Council''s annual budget and setting the Council''s Council Tax each year. Producing the Medium-Term Financial Strategy each year and to have overall responsibility for the Council''s Treasury Management function and Capital Strategy, including the preparation and monitoring of the capital programme and its financing. You will also have responsibility for accounting for the Collection Fund and to manage a small team, including the procurement service.
