Job Title: Facilities ManagerLocation: Groveside School, Reading, RG2 7AYSalary: Up to £35,000 per annum dependant on experienceHours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to FridayContract: Permanent, 52 weeksWe are part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial aimed at improving wellbeing, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving full-time pay.About the role
We are looking for a responsible, hands-on Facilities Manager to join our team at Groveside School. You will help support our pupils and young people by ensuring our sites are well maintained and equipped to meet their needs. This role supports pupils with SEMH and associated needs, and involves day-to-day repairs, risk assessments, security procedures, equipment checks, and contributing to school development projects. Consistency is key to helping our pupils run smoothly and safely.Previous experience in a similar setting is not essential as full training will be provided. The right DIY skills, motivation and personal qualities are also important. This role suits people with maintenance, DIY and health and safety skills who want to make a real difference in pupils’ lives and futures. You should be quality-focused, efficient, able to work at pace, and motivated to help us maintain a safe, caring environment where every pupil can thrive.Responsibilities
Maintain school sites and facilities to meet the needs of pupils and staff.Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance tasks.Contribute to risk assessments and safety procedures.Check equipment and ensure it is safe and functional.Support school development projects as required.Ensure security procedures are followed and the school environment is safe and welcoming.About us
