The ChildrensHearing Service covers the population of West Hertfordshire providing a fullrange of diagnostic and rehabilitation services to children and young people. Youwill be working with Lead Paediatric Audiologist/Service Lead, Consultant inPaediatric Audio-vestibular Medicine (AVM), Paediatric Audiologists, AudiologyAssistants and administration staff. On a wider level you will work with ENT,Educational audiologists, Speech Therapy. This is an extremely supportive teamand provide a fantastic environment to grow your paediatric audiology knowledgeand skills. This role requires traveling to multiple locations.Main duties of the job

This rolerequires diagnostic assessments using a range of testing techniques and rehabilitationof children with auditory disorders; some of which are complex and will beaccompanied with a senior clinician as well as digital hearing aid provision.The role also involves general departmental administrative duties and service developmentand may require some teaching and training of junior staff and alliedprofessionals, if appropriate. You will be expected to have high professionalstandards, be adaptive to change and work independently as well as jointly withother audiologists and Consultant AVM.About us

To undertakethe full range of diagnostic, technical, and (re)habilitative audiologicalprocedures for children, including history taking, otoscopy, pure toneaudiometry, VRA, performance audiometry, tympanometry, speech testing, andotoacoustic emissions testing as required, following BSA and departmentalstandards.To offer comprehensive management throughcounselling patients and their parents/carers regarding the nature and extentof any hearing loss, discussing management options, and supporting informeddecision-making.To provide guidance and advice to relatives andcarers on hearing and hearing-related matters to ensure effective communicationstrategies and support at home or in educational settings.To provide written evaluations of test resultsin line with BSA standards and departmental protocols within set timeframes andrecommending or arranging further investigations where necessary.To assist senior clinical audiologists by takingear mould impressions, processing hearing aid repairs, and supporting hearingaid fittings and review appointments for babies and younger children.To ensure allclinical areas are clean and tidy, equipment is calibrated daily and withinexpiry, and stock is managed appropriately, taking corrective action orescalating to the medical devices lead when required.Person Specification

BSc AudiologyRCCP and/or HCPC registrationMSc in Audiology with competency certificateDemonstrable post graduate clinical experience in balance assessment and general audiologyWillingness to travel to multiple locationsDisclosure and Barring Service Check
