Social Worker - Children & Family Services (Assessments)
Location: Redhill
Salary: -40,000
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality social work services to children and families within an assessment-based service, ensuring safeguarding, child welfare, and positive outcomes for children and young people. The role involves undertaking family assessments, producing reports, and working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive parenting and family assessments within agreed timescales
- Assess risk, safeguarding concerns, and the needs of children and families
- Produce clear, accurate, and evidence-based reports for internal and external use
- Work closely with local authorities, courts, and other professionals involved in child protection cases
- Develop and implement intervention plans to support families
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with regulatory and organisational standards
- Participate in case conferences, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
- Ensure all work is completed in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
- Promote the welfare and best interests of children at all times
Key Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Experience within Children & Families Social Work
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and assessment processes
- Experience completing family assessments and written reports
- Ability to manage a complex caseload
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
- Full UK driving licence desirable
