We’re seeking a detail-oriented Assistant to support our Marine Management Organisation (MMO) licence application and secure grant funding for our project.

The Role

  • Draft and organise MMO application materials, ensuring compliance and timely submission
  • Identify and apply for grants from government, environmental, or aquaculture funding bodies
  • Write grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate with team, consultants, and stakeholders (e.g., local authorities, environmental groups)
  • Maintain accurate records and follow up on MMO or grant-related queries

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for applications and stakeholder coordination
  • Interest or experience in grant writing or regulatory applications (training provided if needed)
  • Basic knowledge of marine environments or aquaculture is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Independent and collaborative work ethic
  • Passion for sustainability or marine conservation
  • Knowledge of Bracklesham Bay or West Sussex coast is a bonus

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in environmental science, marine biology, business administration, or related field preferred but not required
  • Experience in grant applications or administrative tasks is a plus

What We Offer

  • Key role in a sustainable seaweed farming project
  • Flexible hours (15-25 hours/week, some remote work possible)
  • Experience in marine licensing and grant writing
  • Supportive team environment
  • Potential role extension based on project needs

Join South Coast Seaweed to shape sustainable marine farming in Bracklesham Bay!
