Retail Assistant

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary, ongoing

Hours : 08:45-16:45 35 hours per week 5 days over Mon-Sat


 About the Role

Pertemps Isle of Wight is currently recruiting a Retail Assistant to join a busy local retail team. This is a hands-on position that involves both customer service and manual handling, so it’s best suited to someone physically fit, enthusiastic, and ready to roll up their sleeves.

 
Key Duties:

•  Providing friendly, helpful service to all customers and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

•  Operating tills and processing sales accurately in line with company procedures.

•  Restocking shelves and maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-presented shop floor.

•  Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, including moving stock between the store, yard, and shop areas.

•  Checking deliveries for accuracy, quantity, and condition, and completing related paperwork as required.

•  Supporting customers with loading their vehicles when needed.

•  Helping with stock movement and order picking for other branches or departments when required.

•  Reporting any unusual occurrences, safety issues, or concerns to management promptly.

•  Carrying out any reasonable additional tasks to support the smooth running of the store.
  
  

Requirements:

•  Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks safely.

•  Confident communicating with customers and colleagues.

•  Reliable, adaptable, and willing to help in all areas of the store.
