Engineering Manager – Electrical Engineering (Power) – Manchester (Hybrid: 2 days a fortnight on-site, with travel to other UK sites as required). Salary: Up to £61,967 (commensurate with skills and experience).What you’ll be doing
Leading and managing engineering staff or business partnerships/sub-contractsPerforming engineering planning, management and review activities to ensure products are integrated, safe, compliant and delivered within cost, quality, time and schedule targetsEnsuring the maturity of developed solutions is appropriate for the requirement and capturing all technical risks and opportunitiesReviewing processes and procedures to reduce waste, improve efficiency and establish a best-in-class capabilityEnsuring all engineering activities align with the Operational Framework and comply with engineering policiesChairing LCM Design Reviews and/or technical bid reviews for minor projects and contributing to larger projectsYour skills and experiences
EssentialChartership or working towards it (or prepared to work towards)Engineering degree or HND with substantial experience in Electrical Engineering design/developmentExperience in design/development of power systems (concept through to detailed design)Experience in power systems modelling, switchgear, protection and power electronicsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsTeam leadership experienceDesirableKnowledge of defence standardsExperience of Marine Electrical SystemsExperience of working with engineering life cycleBenefits

You will be leading a newly formed and growing team of engineers, working on technical specifications and engineering deliverables. You will liaise with various stakeholders across the business and there are opportunities for progression.
