Registered Nurse - Woolverstone Macmillan Centre

OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to join the team on the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre at Ipswich Hospital. This is a great opportunity to join a nurse-led outpatient haemato-oncology service. You will be an enthusiastic, innovative Registered Nurse working in the busy, fast paced environment of a Chemotherapy Day Unit / Outreach clinics. Experience in Oncology and Haematology is required, and you will ideally have completed Guy’s Cancer Academy Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy (SACT) Online course. If you have the required experience but have not completed the course, you will be supported to do this.
Responsibilities
Deliver high quality, evidence-based, safe, cost effective care to all patients and families.
Complete a recognised accredited Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy course (SACT).
Complete the UKINS Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy passport.
Access patients pre-SACT, carrying out a full toxicity screen and ensuring the patients are safe to proceed with treatment.
Work across clinical areas to develop and enhance clinical skills and practice, including part of a rotation to the Mobile Cancer Unit.
Requirements / Qualifications
Registered Nurse with recent post-registration experience and evidence of relevant post-registration study.
Experience in Oncology and Haematology is required.
Ideally to have completed Guy’s Cancer Academy SACT Online course; if not, you will be supported to complete it.
Working patternThe post will be worked within our unit working hours of Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00.
