Overview
Group Accountant – Hogan LovellsLondon – 35 hours per week, typically 9:30am to 5:30pm. Flexible and agile working patterns; hybrid work arrangement up to 40% from home and 60% in the office. The role reports to the Senior Financial Accounts Manager.Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
The role will assist the Global Financial Controller and the Senior Financial Accounts Manager with the consolidation of the financial statements across the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. This role supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial reporting and analysis across multiple entities.Group Management AccountsAssist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for the UK region, including month-end adjustments, support to Business Services Directors/Management of the firm, and review of the UK figures.Prepare HLI-wide adjustments (e.g. bad debts, rebates, disbursements, Inter LLP).Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.Liaise with local finance teams to ensure timely completion of management accounts and help them understand their results.Provide review and analysis of local office accounts as part of group consolidation, including balance sheet account review.Assist with accounting complications, journal processing, balance sheet control accounts review, and adherence to firm policies.Contribute to quarterly Group management accounts with accompanying commentary interpreting results.Correct posting errors and respond to related queries.Develop strong knowledge of the firm’s financials and performance; monitor and improve group reporting processes and systems; drive consistency across global finance teams and implement efficiencies.Group Statutory Accounts and ComplianceInvolvement in the preparation of the Group’s LLP and subsidiary financial statements under IFRS.Collaborate with the audit team and liaise with group office accountants to ensure efficient audit completion.Work with the International Tax team providing reporting to support tax submissions, including Pillar Two preparations.Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.Person Specification
Essential – Qualifications, Skills and Experience
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.Experience in analytical review, trend interpretation and delivering results in a deadline-driven environment.Thorough knowledge of Excel.The Candidate
Ability to engage with managers and partners at senior levels, including outside the UK.Diplomatic yet persuasive; team-oriented with a hands-on approach; capable of planning work with minimal supervision.Pro-active, able to add value, and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.Desirable
Law firm experience.Experience in preparing statutory financial statements.Agile Working Statement
