Overview
Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Hillingdon Urgent Care Team (UCT). Permanent, full-time post (10PAs) with a special interest in Paediatric Liaison. The post holder will manage young people presenting through Hillingdon Hospital Emergency Department and those admitted to paediatric and adult medical wards. The Urgent Care Pathway has additional funding to develop short term crisis intervention (tier 3.5) input.You will join a friendly, multidisciplinary team based across two clinic sites in the borough with good transport connections and parking.This post includes a Golden Hello of 20K payable in two instalments (taxable and non-pensionable) and a relocation package up to 8K (subject to eligibility). Take a consultant lead role in the local Urgent Care Team and provide psychiatric assessments for the team as required.Provide input to the weekly clinical review meeting for UCT and support emergency work at Hillingdon Hospital with 7-day follow-ups.Lead the development of the Tier 3.5 Urgent Care Outreach Service for Hillingdon.Contribute to monthly senior management meetings for local CAMHS and the crisis pathway; develop joint crisis pathways and protocols with the acute hospital.Attend interface meetings with the emergency department and contribute to professional meetings for young people at the hospital, including bed escalation meetings.Provide clinical supervision to psychiatry trainees and specialty doctors as needed.Lead on the development of interface working between UCT and other CAMHS sub-teams as well as ACTS (Adolescent Community Treatment Service).Provide continuity of consultant input for young people admitted to paediatric and medical wards and act as responsible clinician when required.Utilise paediatric liaison sessions to offer consultation to paediatrics and help develop a business case for a paediatric liaison service with the local acute trust.Participate in case-based discussions with CAMHS colleagues and contribute to teaching for colleagues, trainees, and medical students.Facilitate a monthly consultation group with the out-of-hours team and contribute to activity reports for senior management meetings and commissioners.Qualifications and Requirements
Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).Commitment to maintaining CPD and attending relevant professional meetings.The post is part of CNWL, which provides mental and physical health care across a broad range of services and collaborates with local management structures. The UCT Senior Management Team is led by the UCT clinical lead and service manager.
