Work closely with the Risk (RMD) Development team and liaise with RMD business to ensure the Technology stack is fully optimized to meet current requirements, growth demand and regulatory obligations. Promote and deliver high quality, fast, adaptable and flexible software solutions to meet and anticipate demand while reducing the total cost of ownership. Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure everyone has an opportunity to perform at the top of their skills and abilities and maintain a positive, productive and motivating environment.Position Description
The Risk (RMD) software development team requires an agile and versatile specialist and team player with extensive expertise in .Net/C# software and a strong knowledge of SQL. The role requires working in close partnership with the team and a variety of front office stakeholders, globally. The candidate should stay up to date with a multitude of new technologies and have a thorough understanding of development and architecture best practice, along with a good working knowledge of IT General Controls.This role is a key delivery team member for the Risk / RMD Business in EMEA. Working with the Product Owner and the development team, it is responsible for delivering sound, well designed and technically advanced solutions to our business users.The role requires design and development of new software, integration with vendor systems, participation in on-call rota support and following and expanding the established SDLC processes.The role is responsible for participating in delivering IT Strategy, risk and regulatory initiatives and ensuring that SMBC IT systems provide competitive advantage.It actively endorses and promotes Diversity and Inclusion opportunities across the board.Responsible for effective and efficient running of the Credit and Market Risk systems, integrated into the wider SMBC environment to meet the needs of SMBC trading desks.Delivering fast-paced agile high quality software changes and solutions, help running Scrums, Sprints and creating and deploying Releases.Providing advice on .Net, .Net Core, C#, and other development tools and languages, their usage and upgrades, and leveraging them to maximise the business benefit.Frequent .Net/C# tasks such as delivering new projects, improving and optimising the current setup, providing future-proofing guidance on all relevant data points.Promoting enterprise data management and governance design approach delivered through Agile SDLC.Delivering regulatory and internal reporting in a resilient and timely manner incorporating the latest and most suitable industry and technology solutions.Regular collaboration with traders and Desk heads to ensure strategic objectives are met through technology changes.Some business knowledge and experience in risk management.What we offer
