An ambitious and well-disciplined secondary school in Bromley, judged Ofsted Good, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join a successful and forward-thinking Faculty from September 2026.
This is a full-time post offering an exciting opportunity to teach English from Key Stage 3 through to A Level, within a highly successful, lively, and supportive department. The Faculty has a strong track record of excellent outcomes and is committed to maintaining high standards of academic achievement and student progress.
A TLR2B (-5,722) is available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate willing to undertake the role of Second in Charge of English.
The English Department has a strong record of success in public examinations. At GCSE (2025), students achieved in line with national averages in English Language and continue to make strong progress in English Literature. At A Level, results are among the strongest in the school and local area, achieving ALPS 3. All students study both English Language and English Literature at Key Stage 4, with students able to specialise in either subject at Key Stage 5.
The school promotes a culture of academic rigour, high expectations, and a well-disciplined approach to learning, ensuring that students are supported to achieve their full potential in a structured and purposeful environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach English across Key Stage 3 to A Level
- Contribute to high-quality curriculum planning and delivery
- Support continued improvement in student outcomes at GCSE and A Level
- Help maintain a positive, disciplined and achievement-focused learning environment
- Play an active role in the wider life of the Faculty and school

- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner or talented ECT

- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrates a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Is willing to contribute to enrichment and wider school life, including form tutoring
- Has a commitment to ongoing professional development
