Overview

The Head of Nursing is a key member of the senior care unit clinical team. Working closely with the Matrons, Ward Managers and Physical Health team members, the wider Clinical teams, the Heads of Service, and the wider organisation, the Head of Nursing will play a main role in driving forward the professional nursing agenda in inpatient and community services. This will include safer staffing, professional standards, developing systems and monitoring dashboards to drive quality improvement and contribute to the development of the strategic direction of clinical services.Responsibilities

Primarily the Head of Nursing for each care unit will take overall responsibility and accountability for the standards of care delivered by the nursing workforce.Provide professional nursing leadership and guidance, inspiring Matrons and ward managers, clinical governance and Physical health leads to build a cohesive, mutually supportive team across the inpatient units and community teams.Model high professional standards and lead by example, promote a culture of learning where learning is shared across the units and the wider Trust, and celebrate successes.Create an environment on inpatient units where excellence in clinical care flourishes in relation to the key dimensions of health care quality.About TeamNottsHC
