Moorfields Eye Hospital, London .An exciting opportunity has arisen for specialist optometrist posts to work at Moorfields City Road, St George''s and Ealing in a variety of core and subspeciality clinics throughout the week (Contact Lenses, Medical Retina Injection clinics, Glaucoma, Paediatrics, cataract).The Optometry Department has expanded rapidly with increasing extended role activities across Moorfields’ sites. The department includes over 160 optometrists and provides clinical services for refraction, low vision assessment, medical contact lenses, as well as extended role activities. Moorfields is a post-graduate teaching hospital, with strong training, education in partnership with UCL, and links to the Institute of Ophthalmology. We are supported by our spectacle and contact lens laboratories.We offer a range of specialties, hours, and terms of service, all of which can be discussed at interview. This role requires regular use of a range of advanced clinical techniques, clinical decision-making with support from consultants, and the provision of specialised diagnosis, management, care and patient education.To provide a clinical opinion or obtain a clinical opinion from consultant colleagues to optometric and non-optometric colleagues on the management of patients.At Moorfields, we provide more than just an excellent career and great colleagues to work with. Undertake specialist clinical activity with regular use of advanced clinical techniques and dexterity.Provide clinical opinions and obtain opinions from consultant colleagues to inform management of patients.Collaborate with consultants and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver patient care across Moorfields’ sites.Qualifications and requirements
Experience as a specialist optometrist in relevant clinics (e.g., contact lenses, medical retina, glaucoma, paediatrics, cataract) as applicable.Ability to work across multiple Moorfields sites and clinics as required.Seniority level
