Residential Support Workers & Team Leaders (Children’s Home)

We are currently looking for Residential Support Workers able to work in the Ilford area. This role provides immense job satisfaction within a busy and varied environment, working with a range of professionals and directly creating positive outcomes for the young people you’ll support
Salary: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour (paid monthly)
- We recognise and reward experience - Candidates with strong backgrounds will be considered for Team Leader positions
Working Hours: Shift based role operating on a rolling rota (Mon - Sun)
- Day shifts: (8:00am - 8:30pm)
- Waking Night shifts: (8:00pm - 8:30am)
- Flexibility is essential - We understand work/life balance can be challenging in this field so we enable planning of personal time
Essential Experience: 6+ months in a childcare setting
- Ability to advocate for young person
- Strong professional communication skills verbal and written
Desirable: Experience in residential childcare is an advantage
- Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High level of professionalism and honesty
Your Role:
- Supporting children and young people in their daily lives, creating a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment
- Acting as a key worker and building positive, trusting relationships
- Promoting education, independence, and positive behaviour
- Working in partnership with social workers, families, and other professionals to deliver consistent care
- Contributing to care planning and supporting young people towards greater independence
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised home environment
- Sharing household tasks and taking responsibility for the care of the property and resources
- Keeping accurate records and completing key administrative duties
- Making informed decisions to support young people during shifts
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality care
