Facilities & Operations Manager

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Gallery Operations Manager to oversee the smooth running of our exhibition space, auction room, office and warehouse facilities.The successful candidate will manage the installation and presentation of auction previews, maintaining high standards of display. They will coordinate with departments and the Events team on all aspects of auction day logistics, from room layouts and seating to booking auction staff. They will supervise technicians, cleaners, and temporary staff, while maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.Beyond the gallery, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing departmental storage allocations, conducting regular audits, and ensuring workflows remain efficient. Office and facilities duties will include managing supplies, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, organising staff training, liaising with landlords and IT providers, and ensuring compliance with fire, risk, and health and safety requirements.The role also covers warehouse and logistics, coordinating property transfers, overseeing audits and zoning systems, managing Temporary Admission import/export records, liaising with clients and shippers, and supervising warehouse staffing and upgrades.The successful candidate will play a key role in strategic planning, organising the annual auction calendar, managing budgets and expenditure, leading facilities projects, and maintaining a preferred supplier network.This is a dynamic and hands-on position, suited to a proactive professional with strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
