Due to maternity leave NBT have a 12 month, locum position for a Consultant Radiologist in Body/Abdominopelvic radiology.Responsibilities
Be part of an enthusiastic and cohesive General Body radiology team.Clinical management of patients under their care, and in liaison with consultant colleagues, ensure continuity of care when the postholder is absent.Provide radiology support to the regional skin cancer MDT, and contribute to additional abdominopelvic MDTs aligned to sub-specialty where applicable.Provide general ultrasound lists with support for radiographers and trainees; GI and other relevant intervention can be incorporated into job plans but is not an essential requirement.Contribute to departmental general radiology activities across the North Bristol Trust sites and join the 1:18 general radiology on-call rota (allocated 1.0 DCC).MDT and departmental context
The post holder will participate in several Consultant-led General Body MDTs shared between the team on a rotational basis, in close collaboration with GI surgical, gastroenterology, gynaecology, urology and plastic surgery departments. Emergency imaging is provided by SpRs supported by consultants in general, interventional, neuroradiology and neuro-interventional radiology, with a 24/7 rota. From 0000–0800, emergency scans are outsourced to an external reporting company.Job plan and working arrangements
The post holder(s) will have a 10 programmed activities (PA) job plan: 8.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA).There is potential to work less than full-time, upon discussion.Details and timetable of the plan will be discussed and agreed with the Clinical Lead to reflect sub-specialty interests, including relevant MDTs and face-to-face patient-facing lists, as well as general radiology activities across North Bristol Trust sites.Joining the 1:18 general radiology on-call rota, with allocation of 1.0 DCC.Opportunity for home reporting, plus an extra 2 PA which may be DCC or SPA to support non-clinical activities for the department.Additional information
