The OrganisationEllwood Atfield are delighted to be partnering with the Marine and Stewardship Council (MSC), an international not for profit whose goal is to end overfishing and protect the ocean environment. They work with 670 fisheries and run the leading global sustainable seafood certification and labelling programme.Their iconic blue fish ‘ecolabel’ which appears on pack, in store and on menus, offers a sustainable seafood choice to consumers who care about ocean impacts. They work with fishers, as well as major brands and retailers in multiple countries to build momentum for sustainable seafood supplies.The OpportunityMSC are looking to appoint a Global Head of PR and Corporate Communications, to ensure the efficient delivery of global PR and corporate communications, grow a positive PR profile for MSC, manage reputational risk and lead on major events and global publications.As the Global Head of PR and Corporate Communications you will play a pivotal role in the organisation’s reputation and reach, which will be essential in ensuring MSC continue to make an impact on such a prevalent global issue.Key ResponsibilitiesLead their global PR efforts, working with talented colleagues around the world to tell the story of their work and their inspirational partners, through key international media.Lead and deliver major corporate affairs moments, including their annual report and global stakeholder event in Barcelona.Lead on the writing and editing of high-quality global news releases, op eds and other editorial copy.Lead on issues management, defining lines and responses, co-ordinating across the MSC’s global network.Join an international workforce of highly motivated, expert people who are passionateabout the ocean and the difference that the MSC program is making.Key Skills RequiredA great track record in leading the delivery of PR across multiple marketsExpertise in issues management and corporate communicationStrong ability to manage relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across different cultures and disciplines.Experience working in an international setting.Significant experience of building, mentoring and coaching team members, including those who work remotely.Strong intellectual ability to understand complex, scientific information, and translate it into compelling communications.A strong interest in ocean issues, particularly major global policy issues.You are likely to be from a not-for-profit or commercial background.
