Principal
level
Human Factors Consultant
to be based at either the
Warrington
or
London
office.The Human Factors team forms part of our major accident hazard safety business, working predominantly in the nuclear sector. We provide Human Factors design and safety case support to ensure that the role of the operator is fully considered and potential for human error minimised. The team has led Human Factors support to several high-profile nuclear projects, including a major new build to process and repackage fuel within gloveboxes, and has provided Human Factors assessments for decommissioning sites and operational facilities. They have recently developed safety critical task analysis guidance and undertaken Human Factors assessments for control of major accident hazards (COMAH) sites. Typical projects involve providing tailored Human Factors solutions on the design and operation of topics such as: control rooms, interface and equipment, layout and workspace, environment, alarm, competency management and procedures.What You Will Be Doing
You will lead and deliver results on multiple Human Factors projects with a variety of clients whilst fostering long-term, strategic client partnerships.Scoping and delivering on large, technical Human Factors assessments whilst managing small project teams.Support the design and case/safety report assessments.Undertake tasks within Human Factors such as operational claim identification, substantiation, design support, project integration management, human error identification, application of human factor methods, verification and validation.Resolve operational issues.Derivation and management of requirements.Apply modern human factors techniques and industry best practices.Drive innovation to grow the business.Train and mentor teams, providing guidance in key technical areas.Who We Are Looking For
Experienced in leading and delivering Human Factors support to nuclear or other high hazard projects.Understand and apply knowledge of UK regulations and standards and other regulatory regimes.Regulatory interaction.Proficient in technical report writing.Willing to travel to and work on clients’ sites.Qualifications
A degree qualification in a related subject such as Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology or Industrial Design.Obtained or working towards chartership with The Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.What is in it for you?
