We are currently seeking an HV Cable Design Engineer. This role involves driving design excellence, sharing knowledge and experience with other team members, and support cross-functional collaboration to meet both customer and industry requirements.The position involves designing high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power cable systems. Initially, you will provide detailed design information to support cost estimates for proposed systems. Upon receipt of an order, you will carry out contract engineering.You will lead the design delivery for Cable System Projects up to 400kV, from the tendering stage through to project handover.Deliver Concept design, FEED, feasibility and Detailed design projects and bids for clientsCalculate appropriate cable sizes.We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.Degree level qualifications in Electrical Engineering.Experience and knowledge of EHV (11kV to 400kV) power systems and equipment and ideally EHV power cables and substation equipmentUnderstanding of cable installation techniquesProficiency in IEC standards and familiarity with design softwarePeople are Jacobs greatest asset, and we offer a competitive package to retain and attract the best talent.In addition to the benefits youd expect, UK employees also receive free single medical cover and digital GP service, family-friendly benefits such as enhanced parental leave pay and free membership of employee assistance and parental programmes, plus reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships.
