This is a meaningful opportunity to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome behavioural challenges and thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role:

  Provide targeted one-to-one and small group behavioural support for pupils with SEMH needs

  
  



• 
  

  Implement and monitor behaviour support plans and restorative approaches to promote positive behaviour

  
  



• 
  

  Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils in managing their emotions

  
  



• 
  

  Collaborate closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support students'' emotional and behavioural development

  
  



• 
  

  Build trusting, empathetic relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and resilience

  
  



• 
  

  Support pupils during lessons, break times, and other school activities to ensure consistent behaviour support

  
  



• 
  

  Assist in creating a safe, inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing and learning

  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• 
  

  Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviours, ideally within a school or alternative provision setting

  
  



• 
  

  Be calm, patient, and empathetic, able to manage challenging situations with professionalism

  
  



• 
  

  Demonstrate effective use of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques

  
  



• 
  

  Be committed to safeguarding, inclusivity, and promoting student wellbeing

  
  



• 
  

  Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with staff, students, and families

  
  



• 
  

  Show flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude to daily challenges

  Ideally hold a background in youth
