Salary: andpound;85 - andpound;100 per day (based on experience)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only | Temp to Perm Potential








The Opportunity:



We are seeking a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 2 with sensory processing difficulties. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for someone with a genuine passion for inclusive education and an understanding of how sensory needs can impact learning and behaviour.

Your Role:



As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a pupil''s daily school experience. The child you''ll be supporting may have difficulty with sensory input, transitions, focus, and emotional regulation, and will benefit from consistent, calm and tailored support throughout the day.








Key Responsibilities:




  • Support the child with transitions, focus and engagement across the school day


  • Implement sensory strategies and calming techniques to help the child manage sensory overload


  • Prepare and adapt classroom materials and resources to meet the pupil''s sensory profile


  • Liaise regularly with class teachers, SENDCo and external professionals


  • Help promote a safe and structured environment, both in class and during less structured times such as break or lunchtime


  • Use visual supports, routines and sensory tools to reduce anxiety and aid communication


  • Contribute to regular review meetings and keep clear, consistent records of progress and observations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:




  • Experience supporting children in a school or SEN setting


  • Knowledge or training in sensory processing needs (or willingness to learn)


  • A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach


  • Strong communication and teamwork skills


  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and provide consistent support


  • Ideally a relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
