Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help and assist the team with daily routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of care experience and be compassionate.

They will help with day-to-day care activities in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous care experience and/or qualifications are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties may include:

Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing

Assisting with feeding

Making and changing beds

Turning patients to prevent pressure sores

Talking to patients to reduce anxiety

Helping patients move around

Assisting with toileting and bedpans

Maintaining a tidy ward or home environment

Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and assisting with patient transfers. You may also escort patients between departments and, with experience, participate in induction training for new staff.
