About the Role:
As a Technical Manager, you will be the principal client-facing technical expert across all service lines, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of technical operations and client satisfaction. You will provide critical engineering support to onsite teams, drive innovation, and contribute significantly to business development initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to act as a Senior Authorised Person/Authorising Engineer, mentor engineers, and champion technical excellence within our Corporate Services division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical expert for clients across all service lines.
- Provide essential engineering support to onsite teams, including emergency response.
- Offer technical expertise to the Business Development team for tailored customer solutions.
- Promote and implement innovations in new technology and service solutions across the business.
- Serve as a Senior Authorised Person/Authorising Engineer for the division, covering relevant technical disciplines (Electrical/Pressure/Confined Spaces).
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for account teams.
- Develop standardized documentation and processes (e.g., Forward Maintenance Register, Risk Registers) for site teams.
- Support Business Development Managers in identifying and securing new opportunities.
- Conduct investigations and root cause analysis, producing reports and learning documents.
- Collaborate closely with the QHSE team to ensure safety and quality.
- Promote customer experience and wellbeing through effective operation of building service systems.
- Provide technical support to the division''s project team.
- Assist account teams in developing business-focused maintenance strategies and reliability plans.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical excellence, driving best practice standardization.
- Support site teams with technical operations across all building service engineering disciplines.
- Champion technical solutions and innovations.
- Mentor and develop engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Ensure the implementation of CBRE GWS Technical Safety Rules and Procedures to promote safe working methods.
What we are looking for:
- Preferably professionally registered (IEng or CEng) or actively working towards professional registration.
- Electrically qualified with 18th Edition / 2391 Test & Inspection
- Preferably experience within a QS Capacity.
- Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer in Electrical, Mechanical, and Confined Spaces, with a strong understanding of implementing safe systems of work.
- Extensive experience with a wide range of building service engineering systems.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role across a diverse customer base.
- A strong track record of successful technical problem-solving.
- Excellent ability to communicate complex technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in producing clear and concise technical reports.
- Flexibility to provide support at short notice when required.
