Salary: andpound;90 andndash; andpound;120 per day (depending on experience)
About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive school in the Winslow area is looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with visual impairments. You will be instrumental in helping students access the curriculum, develop confidence, and gain essential life skills in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support for students with VI using braille, assistive technology, and mobility devices.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure progress and wellbeing.
- Assist with IEPs, risk assessments, and personalised care plans.
- Promote independence, resilience, and inclusion in all learning activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with visual impairments (preferred).
- Good knowledge of SEN and accessibility strategies.
- Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
