Theatre Practitioners - Scrub & Recovery

We are recruiting for Registered Practitioners in Theatres who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. Our service now includes admission and recovery of elective patients and a continued emergency service for the Trust. Our team works 24/7, 365 days a year. As part of a rotation with other team members, you''ll be expected to work evenings, nights, on calls, Bank Holidays and weekends. We have roles within Theatres, in Scrub and PACU and there is an expectation to be rotated across all theatre areas to assist and care for patients undergoing a variety of elective (Vascular, Orthopaedics, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynae, Plastics, Robotics, ENT and General Surgery) and Emergency procedures. Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedure.Prepare the theatre for surgery and prepare sterile equipment/supplies, keeping waste to a minimum.Responsible for preparation, safe use, decontamination, troubleshooting and reporting of faulty complex equipment.Admit and discharge theatre patients, and care for patients post-operatively.Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.Work in any of the Theatre areas according to service needs, including QE2 site, with the expectation to permanently work in the department they are employed to be based in.Participation in on-calls and out-of-hours working is needed by all staff, regardless of the department they are based in, to provide emergency access to acutely ill patients.Hospitals
