Senior Support Worker - Residential Childcare (EBD)

Hours: 35 per week | Pay: £16/hour | Sleep-ins: £50/night

I''m working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker for a specialist residential home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
 
About the Role:

As a Senior Support Worker, you''ll lead by example-guiding shifts, supporting your team, and creating a safe, stable, and nurturing space for children who have experienced adversity. You''ll play a vital part in helping them feel secure, valued, and capable of moving forward positively.
 
What You''ll Do:
 
·Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations
·Be the senior point of contact in incidents and offer on-call support
·Build lasting, trust-based relationships with young people
·Help staff understand and apply care plans and behaviour strategies
·Record-keeping, safeguarding, and petty cash management
·Engage in planning and attending healthcare appointments
·Support school/vocational attendance and personal growth
·Take part in home activities, trips, and holidays
 
Shift Pattern:
 
·Mixture of long (15hr) and short (8hr) shifts
·Average of 35 hours/week on a rolling rota
·Sleep-in shifts required, paid at £50/night
·Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts included
 
What We''re Looking For:
 
·Experience in children''s residential settings (EBD experience ideal)
·NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or similar
·UK driving licence
·Calm under pressure, good communicator, and strong team player
·Able to manage shifting priorities while keeping young people''s welfare at heart
