About the Role A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Woolwich, Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role will be based in the Reception class, supporting young children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at the early stages of their education.The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping children with additional needs access learning, develop key social and communication skills, and build strong foundations for their future education.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN within the Reception classSupport children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional needsImplement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategiesUse positive handling techniques in line with school policy (physical intervention training essential)Support early years development, including phonics, communication, and social interactionWork closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionalsFoster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive early years learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:Proven experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within Early Years or ReceptionPositive Handling/Behaviour Management training (e.g., Team Teach or equivalent)Strong behaviour management skillsA calm, patient, and nurturing approachExcellent communication and teamwork skillsA good understanding of the Early Years ..... full job details .....
