Sophie and her twin brother were born prematurely (24 + 4 weeks). Sophie developed Retinopathy of Prematurity at birth and as a result she is blind. She attends a mainstream (secondary) school, has an EHCP in place and is making remarkable progress, not only in terms of her education but in all aspects of her life.
