Finance Analyst - Portfolio Monitoring

Goodman Masson are searching for a Finance Analyst to join a leading global Private Equity firm based in the West End. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to gain broad exposure across the private equity lifecycle, working closely with Front Office, Investor Relations and key stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will join a high-performing team responsible for investment monitoring and valuations, and will play a key role in delivering insight and supporting decision-making at senior levels. The firm offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation, ownership, and agility are actively encouraged.
The role will sit within the Portfolio Monitoring team, which plays a central role in the quarterly valuation process and delivers key insights across the investment portfolio. The team operates with a broad remit, offering excellent exposure across the business and a strong learning environment. Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and validating portfolio company valuations using financial data provided by external managers;
- Compiling and presenting quarterly valuation packs for internal governance meetings;
- Following new investments and ensuring relevant financial, structural and reporting considerations are appropriately addressed;
- Producing clear, concise performance analysis of the investment portfolio for senior leadership
- Collaborating with Investment and other teams to assess funding plans, exit timing, and underlying business performance;
- Providing support to Investor Relations by supplying portfolio insights to inform investor updates and fundraising materials;
- Working with multiple internal teams to contribute to process enhancements, operational development, and ad hoc project delivery.
Key Skills:
- Recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) – up to 2 years PQE;
- Strong academics (minimum 2:1 degree and solid A-Levels);
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Analytical mindset with the ability to form opinions and make recommendations;
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong Excel or data analysis skills (e.g., Business Intelligence tools or process improvement);
- Desirable - exposure to investment valuation, debt or credit funds
